| I worked at this childrens home in York with another artist, to create short animations with some of the young people there. We asked them to think about what they wanted to be like in 10 years time, and then draw a picture of that thought. We only had as much time as they gave us between eating dinner and going out with friends for the night, so had to use a simple and quick technique. I placed a piece of white paper on a desk, had a table lamp for light, and used a digital camera to take photos as the young people built up their image. | |
| The reactions we got were really enthusiastic and they all asked for copies on DVD. The DIY approach to creating them gives a nice look and also shows how quickly and simply an animation can be produced.
The final animations have been used by York City Council in a film documenting provision for young people in the city. |
