The Chinese New Year Festival

This is a section of a 20 minute film I worked on a project for Arts Action York and the National Centre for Early Music (NCEM) in York. It involved working with a community arts group of 6 people, to train them in film production (camerawork, interviewing, research, organisation, editing and post-production) and then supervise on location filming. We filmed at the NCEM and several other venues, documenting the festival and the thought and feelings of the group as they experienced it.

At the end of the festival, we produced animations inspired
by it to be incorporated into the main film. A DVD has been produced with the film featuring on it extra scenes, a short film about New Years Day, the animations and a making of film as well as slideshows of still images taken during the project.
